 Knol is the short form of Knowledge which is a free platform from Google where you can share your Knowledge with fellow Knol users. You can have a collaborative KNOL like the Wikipedia articles where you can invite other Authors to Add/Edit/Update your KNOL. Basically this is a google version of Wikipedia but differes slightly from Wikipedia in some cases like the ease of edit, Do-follow tags etc.
